The JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Main is a highly competitive entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India. It serves as a gateway for admission into various undergraduate engineering programs in prestigious institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions. The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country. NOTE: All the dates mentioned below are for reference only. We will post the correct dates when an official announcement will be released by the authorities of the respective exam.
Age Criteria * For appearing in the JEE (Main) – 2023, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) – 2023 examination. However, the candidates may be required to fulfill the age criteria of the Institute(s) to which they are desirous of taking admission. List of Qualifying Examinations (QE) * The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc. * Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University. * Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy. * Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects. * Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). * Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination. * A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration. * General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level. * High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. * Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination. * In case the Class 12 Examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination * Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or those who are appearing in Class 12/equivalent examination in 2023, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2023. *Candidates who passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2020 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2024 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2023.
1. Registration: Visit the Official Website: Access the official National Testing Agency (NTA) website for JEE Main (jeemain.nta.nic.in). New Registration: Click on the 'Registration' or 'Apply for JEE Main' link on the website. Create an Account: Register with a valid email ID and mobile number. Generate a login ID and password for future access. 2. Fill Application Form: Log in: Use the generated login credentials to access the application form. Enter Details: Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, choice of exam centers, etc., as required in the form. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and any other documents as specified in the instructions. 3. Fee Payment: Select Mode: Choose the preferred mode of fee payment (online through debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI). Payment Details: Fill in the required payment details and complete the transaction. 4. Review and Submission: Check Details: Review all the entered information thoroughly to ensure accuracy. Submit Application: After confirming all details, submit the application form. 5. Printing Confirmation Page: Confirmation Page: Once the application is submitted successfully, a confirmation page is generated. Print: Download or print the confirmation page for future reference. It contains the application number and other essential details. Important Notes: * Ensure that all information provided is accurate and matches the supporting documents. * Follow the guidelines provided by NTA regarding photograph and signature specifications. * Keep a record of the transaction ID and confirmation page for future correspondence. * Monitor updates and notifications on the NTA website for any important announcements or changes in the application process. * Always refer to the official JEE Main website or the information bulletin provided by NTA for the most accurate and updated instructions on the application process and deadlines for the current exam session.
Admit cards are released a few weeks before the exam date and can be downloaded from the official NTA website (https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/).
Results are usually announced a few weeks after the exam on the NTA website (https://ntaresults.nic.in/resultservices/JEEMAIN-auth-23). Candidates can check their results using their application number and password.
Candidates can pay the application fee using Credit/Debit card/Net Banking/Paytm/Cash Cards/SBI Buddy Wallet or they can also download e-challan and make the payment in any branch of Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank or ICICI Bank. Fee once paid will not be refunded in any case. Candidates may check the application fees below:
