Conference Day
Conference Day in the SSB interview is the final phase of the selection process, where all the assessors—Psychologists, GTOs (Group Testing Officers), and Interviewing Officers—come together to discuss each candidate's performance during the previous days. It’s a crucial day, but candidates are not evaluated directly; instead, the board reviews and consolidates their observations from the psychological tests, group exercises, personal interviews, and physical activities. Candidates are called one by one for a brief interaction, where they are informed whether they have been recommended or not. The atmosphere on Conference Day is less intense compared to other days, as it is more of a formality. However, candidates should remain calm, confident, and composed, as this is the final opportunity to make a positive impression. The result is often given on the same day or communicated shortly afterward.
Medical Tests
The medical test in the SSB selection process is a comprehensive examination conducted to assess the candidate's physical and mental fitness for military service. It typically takes place after the candidate has cleared the SSB interview and is recommended for further evaluation. The medical examination is carried out at the Military Hospital (MH) or a designated medical center. During the test, candidates undergo a series of physical and psychological assessments, including vision and hearing tests, blood tests, X-rays, and a general health check-up. The doctors evaluate factors such as eyesight, physical stamina, dental health, and any underlying medical conditions that could affect the candidate’s ability to serve in the armed forces. Strict medical standards are followed, and candidates with any disqualifying conditions, like poor vision, obesity, or chronic diseases, may be declared unfit. The medical test is crucial, as only those who meet the physical standards are eligible to join the armed forces.
